Magaly Solis

Program Director

Magaly was born and raised in Dallas, TX. After graduating high school, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from The University of Texas at Austin. While completing her undergrad, she worked part-time as a tutor for middle school students and got a glimpse of the meaningful impact she could have on young minds. After completing her bachelor’s, the plan was always to return home and see through two of her biggest passions: youth empowerment and long-term generational change.

Before joining Friends of the Children, Magaly spent a decade managing school- and community-based programs that improved health and educational outcomes for children across Dallas. She is skilled at navigating citywide operations with various stakeholders, developingstrong teams, and fostering deep partnerships with school districts and community organizations.

A proud first-generation college graduate, Magaly sees herself in many of the youth served through Friends of the Children. With the right tools, she is confident she can play an important role in advancing equity and creating opportunities for children and families to build generational change—no matter what.
