Keri Brookshire understands firsthand the transformative power of mentorship. Throughout her early life, she was guided by several influential figures who helped her become a successful runner and ultimately earn a scholarship to Vanderbilt University.

After beginning her career as a mechanical engineer, Keri felt a strong calling toward education, particularly at the high school level, where she hoped to inspire students just as her mentors had inspired her. She taught high school math at Hillcrest in Dallas ISD and later in a working-class neighborhood in Boston.

Her time in the classroom revealed the stark educational disparities between students with supportive adults in their lives and those without. This awareness deepened through her five years of service as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), where she witnessed how children who have experienced trauma need consistent, long-term support far beyond what state systems can provide.

Driven by a passion for helping vulnerable individuals, Keri volunteers with both CASA and the Northwest Community Center, supporting newly resettled refugee women. She believes that helping even one woman or child can create a ripple effect that strengthens families and impacts generations.

In addition to her community service, Keri serves on the Women’s Ministry Board at Northwest Bible Church, where she helps plan and lead the annual Women’s Retreat. A devoted mother of two, Keri is deeply committed to ensuring that every child has the same opportunities, guidance, and encouragement that her own children enjoy.
