This being our first North Texas Giving Day, we weren't sure we'd reach our goal of $10,000. So you can imagine our gratitude when we watched this community show up and carry us to $22,355!

The day started early. Our Executive Director Sharon Carson joined Wayne White of Communities Foundation of Texas on WFAA's Good Morning Texas to talk about the day and the work happening here in Dallas.

We more than doubled our goal for two reasons. Sandra and Paul Nouri saw our goal and challenged us with a $10,000 match. If y'all could get to $10,000, they'd get us to $20,000. Then y'all went past it!

This money is all going to Basic Needs. Grants cover a lot of what we do, but they can't plan for the unexpected. When something lands on a family without warning, a Friend is already there. Your gifts give our Friends the flexibility to help right away, because the trust is already built.

To every donor, to Sandra and Paul, and to Communities Foundation of Texas for hosting the day, thank you. We're a young chapter, and it means a lot to know so many people are in this with us.
